Bar/restaurant - euphoria is very smart and have good service. We had Chinese there. Tasted very authentic but we thought it had been reheated. It had just opened and overall the experience was good so worth Giving it a go. We didn't stop at the new wigwam on the ski road but it does look the business. Superb looking outside bar.
Curry night - went to the Avalon hotel for curry night. Loved it. It's a great way of meeting new people as you sit on tables with others and the curry is excellent.
Mehanas - el torito is great value and never disappoints. Sorry can't explain where it is so you need to google it. Our favourite traditional mehana is actually just round the corner from the Avalon hotel. I think it's called something like zeedh? Best pork knuckle in our experience in bansko. There is a big sign for it half way down pirin street if that helps or maybe a local can fill in the blanks.
Massages for those aches and pains - if you want something that won't break the bank try a guy that is operating under the Kandahar hotel. (sam e) place as harrys)Good massages for about 40lv.
Transfers - Steve c who is a regular on this site. Reliable and friendly as ever. If you ask he does a mcdonalds stop. Sorry Steve hope that's ok for mentioning.

We will be back in March and can't wait. If you take bansko in the right spirit and do your homework on places to eat and drink I'm sure you will have a great time. Hope this helps in a small way.

re: Bansko report

Hi Gary, absolute pleasure as always, and thanks for the chicken wrap and fries on the way to the airport...
Snow has continued, Bansko now into `picture postcard' mode, skiing is great, and with sunny days feels more like March.. More snow forecast for the weekend...
Great recommendations, totally agree... we have yet to go to the wigwam, but a certain individual (Canski) will be out in a couple of days, i feel the need to sample their rakia Booze

re: Bansko report

Thanks Gary.

What's the story with the wigwam then? Whereabouts on the ski road is it? Is it Ulen or privately owned?

2 weeks, 1 day Til trip no.1 Smile
