More restaraunts and things like that have popped up and lots more snow cannons are apparent. However i don\\\'t think snow is going to be an issue this year there was a comment on the weather last night that Bulgaria as a whole may experience record breaking snow amounts this year. Also their was a special report about Bansko and a potential bid to double ski capacity next year. Keep ya posted and feel free to ask any questions.

Today\'s message:
I think that this year in Bansko the town is gearing (up the top end) for more things to do at night and in the evening. A couple of nightclubs appear to be going in and also a couple of new bars, an even bigger divide between the bottom part (the old town) and the upper part the \"ski resort\" seems to be emerging in Bansko. It has been a dreach day here which the scots are well used to. Some mist up in the mountains most of the day, it is beginning to get very very cold. An environmentalist group warned today that they would cause trouble if more work started up to increase the skiing capacity, the government however replied that they would not be threatened by such a thing. The town is looking much less like a building site than last year and lots of ugly eyesores have gone. I would be more than happy to help you with Bansko PP. Watch this space and feel free to ask any questions.

Chilly winter with heavy snowfall, similar to the one in 1982 is expected in Bulgaria. Snow will fall even in November, because of the Atlantic whirlwinds, which will move to the east over the Balkan Peninsula. This was announces by the meteorologist Peter Yankov.
By the beginning of December the mountains will offer 60-70 cm snow cover. December will be colder than usual.
The winter this year will be humid with temperatures around the average.
Long term forecasts like this are still experimental, but according to scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Science the winter is the best forecasted season. The institute uses special index from the British Meteorological Service, which has proved to be effective.
