Its no good, only 2 more sleeps and we are desperate to know the real situation is on the ground in Bansko. Had resigned to walking boots and perhaps the hope of a mountain bike if there were any left for hire, BUT the forecasts 'look' as if snow is on the way. We need some clarification of what has actually settled and which runs are actually usable, and what the situation is likely to be if there is a good dump Saturday. Are ULEN likely to get everything open for next week or is it ...

Forecast seems to be for snow this weekend... I've always taken the view that what's open will give me a lot more fun that staying at home
Speak to Steve C / Nnightmuffy on here about the MTBs just in case - although come the weekend your bigger problem might be the journey to Bansko from Sofia, because of all the powder!!

The majority of runs are open already, to many to list off, but be assured you will be able to ski.... and that's without the snow forecast this weekendre:Bansko this Sunday

It would be good to be able to go from top to bottom grass and rocks free. Looks a bit bleak at moment on mountain, but town webcam shows no evidence of snow yet. Hope to see a good covering of fresh white stuff by the morning. Any news of the steep runs off the gondola mid station??? Cheers

the weather forecast looks like it's due to cool down below freezing throughout the whole mountain and village by tomorrow evening, and keep it that way for the rest of the week - what with more snow forecast tomorrow and sunday, fingers crossed.re:Bansko this Sunday
Denis and Joy have arrived, there was 10cm snow on the ground at Sofia airport, -8C and snow still coming down. Most seasonal I have ever had it at the airport. Drive to Bansko took an extra hour, all credit to the careful driver. Well, health and safety out of the window, the screen heater/ dentist was not working at all at first so we has the rep frantically trying to keep a few square inches of windscreen clear for the driver to see out of. What a joke no proper chamois or cloth or ...

What a joke no proper chamois or cloth or rubber squeegee, used some screwed paper and eau de-cologne, quite ingenious! Anyway arrived safe band sound, snow month we ground in th rd town, low temps so I would say here to stay, cams show Canon's working also. Should be good for those of you out here next week. Had 'several' beers already at Strazhite so looking forward to Monday morning. Let me know if you want updates throughout the week as happy to oblige thanks to the hotel Wi-Fi. Half a sleep then piiiiiiiiissssssssst.

Arrived Saturday which seen heavy snow fall all night, and all day Sunday giving a great day of powder skiing with snow equating about 20/30cm, then snowing all through last night to give a great bit of fresh snow... So all in all, great conditions, with a couple more runs open today including the top, as well as below freezing and snow cannons on for most of the day and even in the village! If they can get the piste bashers working all night then wouldn't be surprised to see every run but ...

If they can get the piste bashers working all night then wouldn't be surprised to see every run but the black 16 down in Chalin Valog open (which unfortunately was green before the snow got here, so still needs a bit more), if not the day after with a bit more snow forecast, so all looking promising
