Was just wondering how busy bansko was this season and if property owners with apartments in developments such as Royal Bansko Towers were making good money on rentals?
Just curious if they make good investments or not?
Thanks
i cant speak from an owners perspective but i know plenty of people here for the season who are renting off owners for the whole season from around 200-350 euros per month
I know people paying less...
The apartments that seem to be doing ok are those promoted heavily by their owners, whose rates are realistic, and are willing to go the extra mile in looking after their guests... economics of choice i suppose, there is a lot of empty accomadation here...
I would hazard a guess but considering the massive fall in apartment values to a more realistic price over what was percieved then investment perhaps may be better described as millstone, especially if ...

The people i know who bought to use for themselves and their friends and family are enjoying their `investment', they may see a return long term maybe ??, but that is secondary to the reason they bought....
i started the season in the neon paying 350 euros pmonth plus bills, but due to leccy probs moved to belmont by the lion hotel for the same price, both are one bedroom apts with spa facilities, pool etc, and belmont has a shuttle bus incase i cant walk for 8 minutes without passing out!!
Good deal - I'm paying much the same at The Emerald (which always appears to do well with package tours, especially Russian, but is never anywhere near full) but the owner had pre-let 4 weeks. To be honest I've been away skiing in Europe a lot and not used it much - I reckon the owner must have made (including opportunity costing for his own occupancy) at least 4 grand for the 5 month season, minus a few odds and sods, for a one bed. Probably cost him less than 80 grand, so actually not a ...
