Hi allJust wondering if there will be anything new in Bansko for 2014? Runs, lifts, bars, etc? Haven't been out now for a couple of years. Looking forward to Feb 7th

Ulen not showing their hand as usual this autumn (never understand why).Couple of whispers in town about the run to the right as you come in on the gondola being renovated and made into a 2 man chair.
The cable pillars and footings are in place as it would be a renovation, but as always nothing confirmed yet

New bars....... Euphoria 2years old, Friendly is now penguins, Jack House is being built same people who run amigos, Ofcourse "The Irish Harp" run by a true Irishman with all the Irish whiskeys etc etc you have ever heard of and more, fantastic food and he runs a free shuttle bus to and from apartment. The Chateaux Antique restaurant very posh!!! New bar on the mountain just as you get onto the main straight to hly down to Shilligarnika. Queens pub 2years old. Stone Flower 2 years old. Blah ...

I do struggle to understand Ulen's commercial awareness...
Basically when do customers book their Ski holiday? Most before the season starts as they have work or family committments meaning they have pretty set dates & others book last minute be they Students etc.
Now surely to draw some of those customers to your offering if you have any nice improvements you would be marketing or at least publishing these changes. Otherwise you are relaying on customer feedback to pull in customers ...

Surely 1 big improvement for Bansko will be the reduced transfer time from Sofia - how far will the new Dual carridgeway be complete come ski season?
Usually its what 2.5hours-3hrs traffic dependant so if these changes reduced it down below 2 hours thats a notable improvement & one which may draw more families (little ones sat for hours in a transport after hours in a plane is hard on them).
Lift prices should be published by now & be possible to purchase online.
Can those who buy ski passes in Bansko pay by credit card - I've heard some money laundering stories who knows if true but electronic payments prevent any such activity.
Also what does the snow wizard predict for conditions this year?
Will Ulen sort out the only non black entry to the base station - that gets cut up so badly and is highly congested easily an accident waiting to happen.

With regards to Ulen, customer servcie, best practice, marketing/advertising etc we have all been beating our heads against a wall for far too long and I agree with every point but hey, it's their show so to speak we are just here to pick up the loose scraps, or that is how they see it. (Even been in meetings with them and the municipality and that is how it was put across!)

I don't get them surely they want to make more profit as possible its madness no to do so. Naively they believe increasing prices has no impact on volume they are also naive in that when they invest to make improvements that word of mouth rather than publishing the changes will increase tourism... Hmm
What is happening to the top lift which was built without planning permission and then found out has that been pulled ...
