Bansko v Borovets

Never been skiing in Bulgaria before. Looking at going at the end of March. Which resort would you recommend? Bansko or Borovets?

re: Bansko v Borovets

It really depends what you are looking for Mike. Bansko is a superb ski area and best suited to intermediates and above. It is also a real town with loads of traditional restaurants (mehanas) plus a good selection of bars and some nightclubs. Borovets is probably more lively (not been there personally) in the evenings with more up beat apres ski. Personally would always go back to Bansko though.

Hope this helps a bit. If you want any more specific info on Bansko come back to me.

hi mike been to them both, the ski runs are bigger and better in bansko, but the night live is more lively in borovets, its up to you, you'll enjoy either one.

Just got back from Borovets. Had a great time. Never been to Bansko but have heard that there are not many runs for beginners. Borovets have quite a few to go at unfortunately they can get quite icy (unless you get plent of snow while you are there. The best runs are up the gondola lift if you go.

re: Bansko v Borovets

Will let you know in a couple of weeks Mike, went to Boro last feb and off too Bansko this year on the 4th of Feb, if it's a choice between better skiing ( your in my case boarding )or nightlife then I'd pick skiing every time, you can make your own fun in the evenings especailly if there's a group of you going.
