Hi all,
I'm off to Bansko on7.11.09 to check on apartments, anyone tell me what the weather is like at the moment (any snow yet). Can anyone recommend a good eating house?
Thanks in anticipation
Brian
Hi Brian plenty of good places in the Old town but I like most people can never remember the name of any!!!! Steve C lives in Bansko and is a regular poster on here I am sure he will give you an update of weather soon.
Hi
Have an apartment in Bansko. We are next door to the Banski Han. This is by far the best food in Bansko. Also inexpensive. The boys that work there are very pleasant.
Thanks to everybody, I have been to Bansko two years ago to inspect the site (Mountain Residence 7) before we decided to buy (mainly for two of our sons and their families). I am vaguely familiar with the old town but cannot remember any names and have been a bit concerned with some of the posts regarding rip off menus, although must admit never experienced anything ourselves on the last visit. Will no doubt give the Banski Han a try, is it in the Old Town?. We probably will not be in Bansko ...

We probably will not be in Bansko much before Sat. evening and at our age (lets just say we are seniors) we may not be up to playing out on Saturday night but I'm sure we will be able to stop a few beers going bad on Sunday. Do they still have a market on Sunday morning? Thanks to everybody for you replies - much appreciated

The Banski Han is at the entrance to Bansko beside the 3 petrol stations. They open all year round. In season you need to book a table. This is the favourite haunt of the Mayor of Bansko. Our carpark is usually packed with X5, X6 & Q7. All the wealthy Bulgarians eat there throughout the year (Not the unscrupulous).
Drove from Nessebar to Bansko in the summer for couple of days. Local market was on.
Have a great time. Seemingly there is snow predicted for the high peaks.

Its snowing very lightly in the town as i type this. Got cold now and the forecast is for it to remain very cold (-...
Great places to eat here, try the `Barakova' near the church, the Ethno restaurant has reopened near to us in Martinelli, and of course, the Banski Han... If you search around you are not going to be disappointed... and there will be snow on the mountain
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your response, I guessed it would be cold but in October 2007 the temperatures surprised us being in the upper 70s(apparently a freak year) The snow sounds like a real bonus and looking forward to the trip now that I know to pack the extra winter woolies! Look forward to trying the eating houses.
Thanks again
Brian
