Bansko which hotel??

Looking to book Bansko for Feb. Which hotel can anyone recommend, looking at The Pirin, Strazhite or Bansko.
Cant decide so if anyone has stayed in any of these would appreciate any advice/ info. Thanks .

Strazhite and Bansko close to the town centre, both very good hotels. Personally I like the perun, has really good facilites and the bar in the hotel has a good atmospher and is reasonably priced.

re: Bansko which hotel??

The Strazhite is the nearest to the gondola, opposite the Lion bar on Pirin Street. The Bansko is on Glazne Street further down, and the Pirin is right in the centre, furthest from the gondola...
All are basically the same facility wise, and standard...
As stated the Perun is a nice hotel, as is the Lion opposite, but there are many...
One that does not get much publicity is the Tanne, chocolatebox chic, well positioned and appointed, well it was when i stayed there a few years ago Wink

re: Bansko which hotel??

Stayed at the Strazhite last year and it was great. I asked for a room change initially as they'd given me one without a balcony and with an adjoining door to a fairly lively bunch, but they swapped me no problem.

Food is on a par with any other Bulgarian hotel (ie not brilliant but edible), rooms are warm, cleaned regularly and have flat screen sat TV with a few English channels.

Huge lobby with free wi-fi and a big fire although the bar wasn't the cheapest. Also a huge ski storage ...

Huge lobby with free wi-fi and a big fire although the bar wasn't the cheapest. Also a huge ski storage area that's handy for the lift up to your room.

The location was handy for both the slopes and the town centre, maybe a ten minute walk with gear up to the gondola but there's a regular free bus up and down. The Lion pub is across the road, as is a great crepe stall!

There's a crowd of us going this year and we're getting an apartment, but if numbers were reduced I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Strazhite. Hope that helps.

(By the way, I had a problem with the bus driver identifying it as I called it the Strazzite ... it's pronounced Strazi-i-tee)

re: Bansko which hotel??

Strazhite for sure , stayed there 2 years ago and would agree with the comment, fab hotel, food good for bulgaria, excellent for the lion bar and the great crepe stall ! From my experience prob about the closest to the gondola with the expense of the kepinski, will be booking into an apartment again for next year but if I was going down the hotel route it would be the strazhite Smile

Have stayed at the Perun and the Strazhite, similar distance from both to the gondola, prefered the Perun, rooms are better and a bit better choice with the food, but whichever you decide on it will be ok
