Bansko with teenager

I'm off to Bansko with my snow boarding lad [13] later on and have never been to Bulgaria before. Any hints and tips regarding whether it's worth taking our own kit or renting or things to do etc? Is ski school worth it? - some of the postings appear pretty neggy about the quality of ski school. Whatever happens the accommodation is bound to better than Tigne last year! Been to bansko twice with mix of boarders/skiers and always had really good tuition from ulen instructors. the equipment was fine when i used it but not like having your own stuffre: Bansko with teenager
We were given all brand new equipment at Christmas with Thomson, however after the first week sking on loads of stones they were not looking good...due to lack of snow this year its probably worth while hiring the stuff than taking your own, depends how much snow falls before you go, you will wreck your own stuff if its anything like at Christmas.
tuition is fine.
