couple of good restraunts near church in centre of town one is in the square with wooden seating outside the other is just to the right down a cobbled street but don't expect european food!!!! (ask James Avolon owner if you can't find them) We found the meals great but you need to be willing to try new things, don't expect english to be widely spoken!!!!
Costs: beer 1 leva approx 40p, wine 3 leva (a glass) just over £1 cheaper to buy a bottle at 8-9 leva £3,double vodka 50p, soft drink 70 cents 25p
We went in large group and put in 10 leva a night into a kitty and apart from the idiots who stayed out until 3am, this was more than enough
A meal in bansko with a couple of beers approx £4-5 but be aware that up the mountain the prices rise considerably (the restraunt at the top of the gondula is a bit cheaper than the other restraunts on the mountain) but nothing like French prices!!!
on the mountain beer is 4.50 leva approx £1.60 and the meals only slighly more expensive than town, we averaged 15-17 leva for a couple of beers and a meal up the mountain

the lift pass works great, no problems with the gates.
I'm not a skier but the family are and we went in Jan group of 13
we had two beginners in the party (never skied before) nursary slopes are at the top of the gondula but they are very flat, our beginners went down the ski road leads off the nursary slopes on the first day, only problem is it is steeper at the top then goes into a very mild run (so i'm told) right down to resort can get very icy and patchy if the snow is not good!!!!
there are some lovely open blues at the top of the mountain but if the top lift is not open you have to ski (walk) down a red run to access them
My husband reckons there may be some greens at the mid station on the gondula, the piste map indicates two reds only at this point but he recons there are small drags but they didn't find this until later in the week by which time our beginners were on the blues having half skied half walked down the red as the top lift was never open (due to wind I think)
it can be very cold at the top of the mountain!!!!!
We loved it there, have bought a house planning to move this summer and run a catered ski chalet next season
