ok 1 other thing... could anyone tell me what the bankso town its self is like? what is there to do? what is the nightlife like? etc

Great. Top spot. OK a bit of building but lets face it, hotels are not a natural occurance and have to be built sometime.

Loads of places to eat (Mehanas) and very cheap and good. Plenty of great bars that stay open as long as you're spending.

Top town and as good if not better than many places in the Alps.

Got to say the only thing I dont like is the transfer but that will be sorted with the new freeway.

i agree....it might have changed now but when i went before the gondola was built no-one in the mehanas could speak english and it was great fun trying to order...lol...they looked at me funny when i asked for a pancake with lemon and sugar

Great news about the freeway but when will it be finished do you know? Have just booked Bansko for Feb and the only thing I'm worried about is the long, late night transfer. Cheers. )
