Just back on Sunday from Bansko with hubby and 3 kids who have all never skied before. We stayed in Mountview Lodge Apts which were fine and the Italian restaurant on lwr ground floor the food came out PIPING HOT. We got 8.00 bus to gondola & after 1st day didn't queue that long although we are Londoners so Bulgarian attitude just bounced off us (my kids certainly found their way ahead in the queue!). True they don't speak much English but can you imagine trying to understand some of our regional accents when you have only just learnt English. The ski school was hit and miss, i had to fight hard to prevent my teenage daughter falling behind/dropping out, i think the instructor's attitude was one less for her to deal with. The holiday worked out cheap we got through £400 family of 5 eating out each night - 3 of them had so many fizzy drinks they're now going cold turkey! My children can now ski after being in a challenging resort in one of the worst seasons (early a.m. ice on Bansko's only learner slope). Roll on next year
