The place is pretty good if you are a beginner or an intermediate skier and have reasonable expectations. We think its good value for money but don't compare it to the Alps.
Happy End, expenesive... Friendly, bit better but still pricey... Irish Pub on happy hour, cheapest in town... Pirin Bistro (formally Bondi, to us.. the `mish mash') beer is 1.50lv all day (bottle)...
Bought 2ltr Pirinsko from supermarket... 2.28lv
Bring sterling and change in the bank, Alpha is the best rate definately, and now open Saturdays, just off the square...
As for hire, anywhere really if you negotiate a good price...
