re: Bansko

My daughters ski instructor and Steve c said March is the best time to go, less people and long days, down side is it can be warm and the snow can turn slushy by the afternoon. We have been twice first week in March 1st time in some places the snow was knee deep. 2nd time it was 10 to 15 degrees and at top of the gondla station it was like water skiing.

prices are very good, the Irish bar has good food, three of us ate there with side dishes desrets and three rounds of drinks for around ...

prices are very good, the Irish bar has good food, three of us ate there with side dishes desrets and three rounds of drinks for around 40 leve. if you ask in the Irish bar they have a discount card which gives you 20% off food and drinks, Stevec gave us ours at the end of our transfer. food very good in most of the resturants, prices a bit more expensive on the slopes but we have always found the friendly bar very good. Drinks around 2 to 3 leves for a large beer in most bars 5 leve for local beer on the slopes.

If your going with a tour opporator book lift passes with them as cheaper, if independent you can buy at the gondla cost around £120 for six days.

Hope this helps

re: Bansko

Stevie, unless you're going easyjet you might find it hard to get out there, no tour operators have any seats left. I got one but it was only after 3 days of searching and only from an airport 5 hours away by car!

Damn Winter Olympics, messing up our late deals!
