Just returned from Bansko there 2-8 January 2011. Queues for gondola huge sometimes waiting 2 hours. Even when we got there at opening time, 8.30 am, we waited one hour! Plus, only 1/3 runs open due to lack of snow and skiing treacherous especially on the one blue run open...saw lots of collisions as it was packed. Sorry to those who are booked to go. Hope you get more snow but that won't help the queuing for the gondola.

we were there the same time last year and had the same problems, hence we are trying beggining of March this year, hope we don't encounter the same problems.

Russian and Romanian Christmas last weekend, even by their standards it was busy here...
A lot better now as they are leaving...
Beginning of March should not be a problem queue wise...
Did anyone use the free buses from the gondola up the mountain ??

It normally is the best time, longer days, and if we have had snow it is usually on the ground by the beginning of March... though with the recent weather, who knows ???

Heard from customers today regarding ski buses.

They are supposedly meant to run from 08.30. Most did not run until 08.50. With long queues waiting. Once up the top of the first run up the drivers got out to sit and have coffee and ciggies before returning down for next run!!!!

Heard this from 3 lots of groups today at airport and from the guys I took back this morning.
