re: Bansko

Hi Joe,
I think a lot of people woould say it's the best time to go. Bit quieter, longer days, slightly warmer temps. I went early March this year and it was great - although starting to get slushy in the afternoons - last season was a bit of an anomoly weather wise to be fair.
In terms of holidays and dates to avoid in Bansko - February seems to be the Month to avoid due to Turkish/Romanian/Uk school holidays and 3 big ski events - March for my money would be a good bet - Turkish half ...

re: Bansko

March generally is the best month (in my humble opinion..) to come to Bansko.. We can (and do) get good falls of snow when others do not, the proximity of Bansko and its micro-climate contribute to this.. It seems we are becoming a later destination, even last season we had an appreciable fall at the end of April, and the resort re-opened for Easter... Fingers crossed for all the reports and forecasts for next week, looks massive, so we are ready to batten down the hatches Wink

re: Bansko

Steve/Wendy, yes agree you are well organised, well in our experience with you at least, hope the snow forecasts do not cause you both too many problems on the roads in the coming days, still at least the promise of some snow will keep the tourists coming and hopefully you busy.
Have sorted out winter tyres and chains ready for our drive to Italy in Jan, could have used them at home last year!!.
All the best for Christmas and the New Year to the 3 of you.
