Hi thinking about booking a family skiing holiday to Bulgaria. Wondered if Bansko is a good resort and why the major tour operators don't offer it as an option. Also looking at apartments 'Mont Blanc' and wondered if anyone knows if there is a nearby supermarket nearby?re: Bansko
Hi FionaBansko is a relatively new resort and has just been added to the Thomson and Crystal brochures. The town of Bansko is currently undergoing a major redevelopment programme and is set to be one of the premier ski resorts in Europe. There are a few small general grocery shops in the town that are all within walking distance. If you require any further information please let me know.

There is a bigger supermarket which you can walk to and get a taxi back from. It won't cost much for the taxi.We walked both ways and made the kids carry the shopping - its character building for them
would definately recommend Bansko. We ate out all the time so all the shopping we needed was breakfast. There is loads of choice for eating out and it is inexpensive.

Bansko is top banana, eating out is so cheap, not worth going to supermarket.Camp Freddy.

you really will love bansko!!think that more and more the major operators are getting involved now.
it will only become more popular over the next few years. my only concern is can it cope with the number of people as it increases??
time will tell...

Just think that as more and more people go, this will be a real problem soon unless they can increase the ski area...
