Just got back from Bansko and had a wicked time. Went to have a look for an appartment but had to go skiing for a day.
The worst part of the holiday was waiting to get a ski pass on Saturday. I waited for 1 and a half hours before finally being served, and then they only accepted Leva when everywhere else they accept euro. The woman in the kiosk even closed the shutter for 10 minutes whilst she had a fag and a cup of coffee while everyone waited outside. Has anyone else experianced this ...

We had not booked accomidation before we went and had a look at the kedempski 5 star hotel. Looks lush but at £200 a night it was very expensive (maybe one day when I am rich). We stayed in the holiday group on the outskirts of Bansko and it was very reasonable.
There is loads of good food and everything is very cheap. There are slightly inflated prices but it is still unbeliveable compared to skiing in the rest of europe.
on our first day, the queue for getting your skiing equipment was manic, but I suppose that is to be expected with everyone arriving at the same time.
Am sure they could sort out all this on the 4 hour bus journey over from the airport, forms and ski passes etc, then all you have to do is get yer skis and boots and away you go...
but apart from that, I love Bansko, great skiing, great views, cant wait to get back
Was there last week...just get there at 8.25 and you'll be fine. I had my oots and ski's before 9 ad was skiing by 9.30. Heard some horror stories about people who turned up late....trust me, its worth eting up early
