Banskos missing lift

On some piste maps there is a chairlift to the right hand side of the current ski area at Bansko, on others (including the official Banskoski site) it is not there - was there just a plan to build it or is there another story?

I believe that is the part that was closed due to a risk of avalanche last year. I don't know if they intend to open it up again this season or not.

re: Banskos missing lift

I was in Bansko last year - at the same time as you I think Val - and that lift had been closed for a couple of years due to avalanches. There were big avalanches in that area the week before we were there, and the area under it was cordoned off at one point due to the risk caused by masses of snow.
I think it unlikely that they will ever be able to open that bit properly unless they work out how to clear the excess snow.
There's plenty of other things to ski though, was there a week and ...

Probably going to see if i can get a late deal this year in Early March - enjoy!
