Beer Assistance

Hello All

I was wondering if anyone can help me at all. Im off to Borovets on the 21st February with seems ages away compared to you lot. But I like to drink real ale (bitter) What is the local beer like out there??? Is it all largers etc there or are there some Bulgarian local beers also???

Hi Michael
There are 3 big nationl breweries in Bulgaria: Zagorka, Kamenitsa and Astika. Zagorka is the best (IMHO). But all these breweries specialise in lager beer. Zagorka has one dark type but it is not ale.
I went there 2 years ago last time and I'm sure that there was Irish pub. You'll get ale there.
