Have a great time & dont worry if you dont pick it up straight away i spen the first 3 days on my bum,
I got all my ski wear from Tchibo last year and it was excellent. You will only need t shirts & jeans for the evening in the hotel as it is very warm. We stayed at the Rila last year, it was great, loads for the kids to do in the evening, good interenet room, TV Room, model making. We didn't venture out of the hotel at all at night. You can sit in the lounge & watch the kids playing on the floodlit slope. We're off again in January back to the Rila, 37 of us.
hi lyndsey
we are going back to the rila for the third time this year. like yourselves we went at xmas first time, it was the best family holiday ever, as for clothing you cant beat tkmax for value also aldi do sell good ski wear but you have to keep looking to see when they get it in stock, it also sells very fast. buy good gloves and socks, also hats and thermals. we also spent most of the time on our backsides. the night life in borovets is great, somthing for every one familys, singles, ...

hi Lyndsey no need foor ski boots you hire them there, you will need snow boots they are water proof and warm. on our first year we were to tired for night life so had loads of unused clothing. you need 3 layers for skiing make sure you have good socks and gloves really important for kids . there are good cheep ski gear shops just outside the Rila if you forget some items or the kids loose it i would recomend helmets for your two but goggles are a must for you all !
Try looking for ski stuff on ebay as well. Last year was our first year, and we picked up jackets for £15-20 and salopettes for about £10. Some were second hand, some ex hire, but it was all good quality stuff. If you don't like skiing, or it's too small for the kids next year (I know how fast they grow at that age!!) you can then resell it!!!!
As for layers, we bought thermal underwear, but bought thin fleeces from Primark for the mid layer. They were only a couple of quid each. ...

As for layers, we bought thermal underwear, but bought thin fleeces from Primark for the mid layer. They were only a couple of quid each. They didn't have any Gucci labels on, but we decided we weren't going on a fashion parade (although there are lots that do!!).
Buy snow (moon) boots from Soccer sports, about £8 - £10, great for walking round in,waterspoof and non-slip, as trainers are too slippery, borovets is great but the roads and pavements get really icy and dangerous
Hi
Thanks for the all great advice, i feel a lot better now.
Was worrying about the hotel after reading some of the reviews but i am sure it will be fine, as for spending most of the time on our backsides, i was expecting that just hope we do not break anything........
Wear LAYERS! that way if your too warm you can shed them (wear a small back-pac). That's probably my top tip . many people are so worried about being cold, they don't think about what they're going to do if it's too warm.
