Behind Bottom Station Ski Depot

Any body who has been to Borovets this season and has got their hire ski's etc from the depot behind the bottom gondola station. Can you tell me if there are any improvements this year as the past couple of years have been bad for any one wanting any modern kind of equipment eg Carver Ski's. If its still crap will certianly be looking elsewhere this year.. Any info would be much apperciated.... Very Happy

Please someone tell me that you can get carving skis in Borovets and that all the gear isn't too outdated...

Pablo you can get some half decent stuff from the other depots eg. Samakov and Rila. I think becuase the last couple of years we havent stopped in either of these hotels we were directed to the other Depot behind the Gondola. Thats what got me last year was that other people had far more up to date stuff even people were using the same operator. It's an arse changing your tequnique to the old way when using the more modern ski's and teqniques. This year I plan to stop in the Rila so ...

re: Behind Bottom Station Ski Depot

Just got back from Boro in the early hours of this morning. Best snow conditions than the previous two other trips there.

As for hiring gear, the chap that I went with hired from opposite the medical centre, in what appears to be garages below an accomodation block. I think the place was called 'Penguin' though I didn't see a name on it.

The hire of gear was 25 lev per day for really good boots, skis and poles. Worked out nearly 1/2 the price of the older gear he hired on the first day ...

Hope this helps.
