I have annual insurance through Lloyds as my wife is a manager there. It has always been a grey area if something went wrong with my diabetes wether or not I would be covered. Fortunately I have never needed it so far.
Always take double what you need and keep seperate just in case you lose one lot.
my husband is also a type 1 diabetic and we recently got annual insurance for the family (6 of us) for £74. this also covers him incase of any problems should they arise with his diabeties as it has been disclosed to the insurers who are direct travel insurance (www.direct-travel.co.uk) or 01903812345, as pete has said just make sure you have something sweet with you and test regular, if a bit low hot chocolate works wonders - full of sugar.
