Kampinski Grand, but it will cost you!! Food is always better in the Mehannas around town. My advice would be forget half board find a decent apartment(no shortage in Bansko) and eat out and experaince a little of the real Bulgaria.

Kempinski Grand is a great hotel - very classy. ALso, went along to see the Bulgaria Hotel which is also fab. We stayed at the Strazhite Hotel - pretty good.

I loved Bansko so if anyone out there is worrying like I did after reading all the negative comments - don't! The queues are long after 9.30 so get there at 8.30 or just after.

ULEN ski school are brilliant and instructors all really friendly and attentive. I had a private instructor who was brilliant). Much better than the ski ...

Had an accident on 1st day so spent a lot of time with very friendly Bulgarians around the slopes. One morning spent drinking coffee and brandy with the mountain rescue team at the top of the gondola as they felt sorry for me with my bad knee.

Food is ok ish - go for the traditional menus and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Old Town is fantastic too! The slopes and mountain area are beautiful and the skiing is fantastic, but quite challenging for beginners like me! Hope you all enjoy your holiday.

re: Best Hotels In Bansko

Kempinski best hotel, very cheap through Balkan holidays, last year we went B&B but ended up wanting to eat in the hotel so this year gone HB, cheap enough to eat out traditional meat on a stick a couple of nights but having done that last year plan to be hotel slobs and luxuriate at the kempinski for the week, food is fine there.
