Hi everybody.
I'am interested in spending 3 days skiing in Bulgaria, since it is practically impossible to ski in Greece until now, and the weather forecast doesn't look promising at all for the next couple of weeks.
I will travel with my 2 children (one year experience, quite capable on blue ski runs). I am just above that level. We will travel by car or bus from Thessaloniki.
I was wondering which of the 3 resorts (Bansko, Pamporovo, Borovets, sorted by distance from home) best ...
Hi everybody.

I was wondering which of the 3 resorts (Bansko, Pamporovo, Borovets, sorted by distance from home) best fits our level and is more safe (not too crowded, not very "icy").
Do you thing the conditions will deteriorate (so we should go now) or improve (so we should wait for the snow to finally arrive)?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Anybody?
Hi Kotsos
I'm not sure of the other resorts, only having been to Borovets (3 times).
Certainly if you are considering Borovets, then right now I'd be tempted to wait until thing improve before booking. I don't know what snow conditions are like at the other resorts so can't comment here. I believe Bansko is highest resort so possibly better snow currently?
There is a reasonable variety of slopes in Borovets, in my opinion there is a bit of a step up between greens / blues to red ...

Given good snow, I don't think there is too much of a problem with ice - obviously this is very very dependent on conditions though, warm days cold nights etc, the better he base the less the problem - more snow needed really)
From what I've read (and can see on webcams). The snow making has saved some of the slopes in Borovets, but basically no snow machines - no skiing, not just yet at least - one dump will obviously change this.
The people are lovely in Borovets (in my own personal experience), however I would assume this to be common across all the resorts.
A big consideration for me would be the relative time differential in getting to the various resorts.
I'm not sure if this helps at all, but thought it nice to give some kind of answer
I would agree - you are close enough to wait for the perfect conditions. I've not been to the others but Pamporovo is a great resort for families and beginner and intermediate skiers. I would wait to see if the snow forecast around the 20th Jan materialises and then book something last minute.
Thank you both.
I think we'll have to wait then, which is the logical thing to do.
It's just that the lack of snow drives me to judgement errors and desperate solutions...
