Blades

Hi guys,

Off to Boro in March good to see it has a good covering already for the start of the season.

Now, I use blades mainly due to the condition of the mainly unkept nature of the majority of the slopes in Boro. I'm not a seasoned skier only having been twice After the 1st day last year I switch to blades and never looked back.

Couple of questions regarding blades to any of you that use them on here,

I have my own blades that I bought in Boro last year, I also have my own boot that I bought the year before as I didnt fancy using boots that had had 100's of pairs of feet in before. The boots are'nt the best of most expensive but they have done me ok. Now I think it's time for a change of boot. So to the 1st question, are there any boot that are specificly designed with blades in mind and if not which "normal" boot would be more suited to blades?

Also I know your not meant to use poles with blades but I do find them a help in some situations so I'm going to buy some I usually use 115" poles but did see sa couple of bladers last year with very small poles( ooohh errr) I'm guessing these are telescopic? and not specificaly designed for bladers? Any guidance as regards which poles to buy would be great too.

Thanks,

Rams.

I think 115" poles will be a bit long. That's nearly 10 feet...
The poles you mention could be walking poles, as these are sometimes adjustable / telescopic.
Hope this helps

re: Blades

I think he meant 115cm not inches, if he did mean inches we will know when we see him on the slopes Razz

with blades normal ski boots are what you would use. I have used them only twice 1st time no poles and found I was lost skiing that way, second time I used my poles and found them much better.
