Board / Boot purchase in resort - return flight?

Thinking of buying boots and snowboard in Bulg when Im out next week but the only thing stopping me is what do I have to do to get it on the plane? Could I sneak an extra bag through Passport control or would I need to pre book / pay for the additional bagage?

Who could I speak to about this??

Cheers

Booze

p.s. 4 sleeps left!

best to buy boots before you go and wear them in before you go, cant take boots back if faulty etc. our snowboard was put on with rest of luggage coming home so you could chance it. that was plovdiv aiport not sophia

Boots are not just boots!!

How many times do you go into the shoe shop with your eyes closed?

Best to try boots on, before you buy.

Should not really have a problem with the airline, but phone them prior and ask them if there is an extra charge.

No no no! It's fine to buy the boots there. I stayed at Borovets. I bought a board and bindings from the shop at the Gondola well actually their other shop near Francos. If you buy boots and there is a problem with them (assuming you don't buy them on the last day) you can take them back and they'll sort them out. The woman in the shop I bought my board (had my own boots already) was very helpful and knew her stuff). The girl I was boarding with bough the full works including Head boots and ...

As far as taking them back went I just put them in with my other bag and had no problems what so ever. Dont ring the tour company cause they'll try to charge you and as long as you re under the limit then there shouldn't be a charge. i think my board and bindings weighed about 7kgs. Hope this helps.

Jane
PS I love my new board but not mad about the bindings (Head ones 190lev they stick when they freeze which makes them difficult to open but pay another 60 lev and you'll get a great pair)
