re: Boarding equipment

I would advise getting the best boots you can afford, make sure they fit perfectly, They are your number one piece of equipment in my opinion....sore feet....ruined hol Sad

Have a look at Vans/Northwave/ThrityTwo 's new lines of Boa boots (no laces, ratchet and wires) they take a lot of the pain out of lacing up your boots, its just twist and go! they give a really good pressure spread, better than some lace up boots.

Then think about what sort of boarding you intend to do, just piste, ...

If its only your second time I guess you want to look into an all round board, something like a burton clash or palmer pulse, something which is forgiving in its ride characteristics but will advance with you, Or you could go for somwthing a little less forgiving and hope it helps refine your style, be warned though, this can hurt if you have too many bad faults! ( I know Sad )

For bindings, you have two main choices, strap in or step in.
Step in + points: Convenience
Speed
No cold arse while doing up straps
- points: Less adjustability (unless flow bindings)
Snow/ice jams
Less foot control

Strap Bindings +: Adjustability
Foot control heeps better
more choice

-: Cold arse
Can be fiddley with gloves!

Only my opinions, or stuff I have learned over past 6 years boarding, I also got my stuff on my second trip, Still going strong, Look after it, it will look after you Cool

Hope some of this rambling helps you Very Happy

p.s. Ebay rocks for cheap stuff, Have picked up 2 sets of boots, new unused, last seasons for %50 off, half price oakleys. Just search away Booze
