I am going to Pamps on 17th January, I am a reasonably advanced skier but understand only the blue and green runs are open. I was thinking that this may be the perfect opportunity to try Boarding for the 1st time, can anyone provide the answers to the following questions:
Would I need to take knee, elbow pads etc??
I have already paid for ski rental and ski group etc, is this transferrable to boarding?

Hi Dave,
check with your tour op you might be able to transfer it, failing that speak with your rep as soon as you arrive i cant see why not..... if you dont get any joy with that get yourself to the snowshack they specailise in snowboarding you will find this at ski centre 2 under hotel markony if you say you post on this site you will get 10% discount....
as for protection impact shorts and maybe wrist gaurds would be good....
Great place to learn mate enjoy!!!!
All the help and advice you need can by got by visiting the Snowshack in Pamporovo. Steve and Ted who run it are originally from Manchester and are really nice guys and extremely helpful as well as being top class boarders.
If you tell them you are a BulgariaSki poster you will get 1O% discount on all lessons and hire equiptment.
My advice would be to see them and have a taster lesson that they run for about 2 hours and if you want more - then take it from there.
No point ...

No point in investing in equiptment if you don't really enjoy it and this will give you a cheap way of making your decision.
Many thanks for your advice guys, reckon it will be a bit of a shock starting from scratch again but could be a good opportunity to give it a go.
Is Cheperlare (not sure of spelling) open at the moment and does it have much snow? If so we might give that a go for an afternoon skiing, I skied there a few years ago but I believe it has been updated since then??
Yes it has been updated and i believe it has better conditions than pamps at the moment, check out the home page of this site there is info on it there
They had the official opening of the new lift on Wed last week. they have twice as many snow cannons than Pamps but otherwise snow conditions are similar to Pamps.
