I'm looking to book a flight, transfer, appartment, ski package, ect all seperatly going to Bansko in Jan 13. This should cost about £400 each for 4.
Or should we wait until Jan and try to pick up a last min package.
I have been to Pamps before and wanted to try Bansko but if cheap deals are about in Jan the location is not as important we dont mind going anywhere.
Well with flights get them booked as early as possible they only ever go up and up a lot.
Sofia can deal with any of the three resorts but Sofia to Pamps is the furthest.
Also not sure who you usually fly with (budget airlines?) but book early and you can fly BA for essentially the same price but have more luggage free drinks on the flight best flight times use terminal 2 in Sofia terminal 1 oh dear it's horrible. Leave it later the price
Can mean BA is more by quite a margin then ...

As for transfers I'd recommend again booking them up ASAP the price is fixed on this so no deals the cost is basically fuel plus the labour cost plus a bit for maintenance and insurance ie to ensure that it's a viable business and no short cuts are made on maintenance as its your life they have in their hands.
Accomodation shouldn't be an issue you can leave this late and likely to pick up a deal. However if you have your heart set on staying in x hotel or appt then it's a risk your taking and may not get it and may have to compromise.
Basically what I'm saying you could book up everything today and you'd know exactly what the price will be and you accept that - or you leave it late and risk either the price or the accomodation to maybe save £x. Question should be is saving £x really that big and you have to hassle about it fr ages weeks months until you do it - maybe or price could go up and then you get less for more.
So end of the day if your happy with the price you see now there is no reason not to book it up. I used to do last minute but have changed and for us it makes everything so much easier.
There will be deals to France, especially the premier resorts, as their numbers are falling due to the extortionate prices for food and drink (and anything actually) Ski/boot hire, local transport, entertainment etc etc etc.... Perhaps the lift passes could be considered good value for the sizes of ski areas, but who do you know who skis 1500km in a week ??
Im sorry, there will be those who will tell you that they had a cheap week in Italy, a pint was only 50cents, pizza for a euro etc... ...

Bulgaria represents the best value overall of any ski destination in Europe, possibly the world, especially if you want a proper 'ski holiday'
I for one like a challenge and do find most of the runs in Bansko not easy - infact some I find quite worrying when at the top of the run but then Man up and get on with it.
The satisfaction of completing a solid run cannot be underestimated. Id certainly like double the number of Pistes in Bansko all available in the same area.

1500km in a week.... its supposed to be a holiday, sure some would love it but if as you say its generally quite easy skiing then surely the best skiers would go to the Andes.
That said - I do fancy trying out Austria for a long weekend, Mayfhorn maybe ?
I'll be the 'other side' you might wanna think about before deciding. I have already booked a week in Alpe dhuez, chalet with 4 course meal and wine, ski carrage, lift passes etc... all in price £550 ..... so when I pay £450 for bulgaria i Feel the tour companys are making their money ..... but at the end of the day ..... I get there end spend with the local busnisses ... I wil get always get the holiday as cheap as I can and then spend the rest on fun.
