Hi folks...just wondering whether anyone has any user knowledge of these little gadgets for clipping into the base of your ski boots when walking around...

I was thinking they would be handy walking around the hotel going to the slopes and coming back.
They just look like another gadget to me CJ. $50 is a lot of money to pay for something that just adds 2lb of weight to your already heavy ski boots. Can't see how they add any comfort or ease of walking - just maybe you're slightly less likely to slip.
I think the ones I linked to are not available as they went out of business...too expensive I think (like you said).
There is another line of gear in the UK for £13...which I didn't think was too bad. I think the idea is it saves your boot edges when walking on pavements/other surfaces apart from snow...plus they help grip when walking on hotel marble floors and the like.
I was thinking that Xmas is around the corner and I need something extra for my wife.
When we stayed in Hotel Bansko last year, they didn't seam to mind us walking to/from our rooms when going skiing...I thought the clips were ideal as they have rubber bottom to them to stop damaging the floor as well.
Friend of mine got some rubber ones for his boots because they were cambered (he's a bow legged chap) - bit of a fiddle to get on with cold fingers but saved the base of his boots. Looking at the state of mine after 2 season, I should have done the same but its probably easier just to get new plates fitted to the bottom when the base wears down too much.
