Hi i just got back on Sun stayed in the Edelweiss. Was fine, clean n tidy, i think rooms had just been done up, was always really warm so had windows open most of the time!lol. Arriving at 2 in the morning feeling v.tired, the long corridor to the room resembled a scene from 'The Shining', it looked like it never ended n was identical on both sides with no distinct features!!

If you are wanting a soak in a bath after the slopes you might not be able to, as it seemed that the right hand side of the corridor, where i was had showers n the left hand side had baths. However the water was always really hot when i had a shower.

Food was ok not great, soups were quite nice.

Both hotels are next to each other, they arent right in the centre of the resort but in easy walking distance of the lifts, bars etc.

I'm sure where ever you end up you will have a great time and if the Bor is like the Edelweiss you will be fine!

Just got back from the Bor on Sunday. Very similar to Nahnah's report. We were on 3rd floor in very large family room. 3rd floor hasn't been done up yet but ground, first & second floors all redecorated and modern. Ours was fine but typically had 4 light bulbs which didn't work, a slightly leaking roof and a bath plug that didn't fit!! None of these things really mattered & they changed the bulbs when we asked. Food ok - plentiful & warm but not a gourmet meal!! Bar area quite lively & prices not bad. About 20 minute walk uphill to resort centre - a bit more to the nursery slopes at Rila. Taxi there will cost 10 lev(£4) which we did in the morning & walked back at end of day. Just try to take everything you need for the day as you don't want to pop back & forth!! Oh and by the way, the pool which is meant to be at the Bor hasn't been built yet!! You can swim at Samokov or Rila for 5 lev which includes a locker & towel. The 2 hotels are a 2 minute walk apart. We had friends in the Edelweiss & they were happy with it. Smaller room & a shower - no bath but more modern than ours.
