re: Bor and Edelweiss

the hotel is good, a bit basic but good. we stayed in the bor last year and are going back on the 27th. only problem is the bar, its not open that late but the one in the edelweiss will stay apen all night if you are still drinking and paying.

re: Bor and Edelweiss

Stayed at Edelweiss last year - great place. 10 or 15 minute walk from the slopes so that can clear your head the morning after. The food was basic, but hot, plentiful and perfect after a day skiing asuming you're not a vegetarian - there was alot of meat available! Rooms are small ish, but clean, have fresh linen and the shower is hot.

Not a single thing i'd complain about really, in fact it's the only part of my trip last yera i'd recommmend without wholeheartedly!

re: Bor and Edelweiss

We were at the Edelweiss last year, it's right next door to the Bor and they both seemed very similar. Was our first time in Bulgaria so didn't know what to expect really. I think the fact that you don't spend much money on a skiing holiday there you don't mind too much about how basic it is compared to a usual European holiday like Spain,France etc.

The hotel itself was just a place to lay our heads after a tiring day on the mountain. The rooms warm, plain, uncomfortable beds (both had slats missing!) and offered no soundproofing from people chatting in corridors in the middle of the night! The food was surprisingly good compared to what we had been expecting. The reception staff courteous, the bar staff jokers, and we had a lovely waitress in the restaurant- very chatty! To get to the slopes we jumped in a taxi outside the front door, there was always plenty waiting. I think it cost 10 Lev and there was always others willing to share the 3 minute ride so well worth it. At the end of the day we usually had a hot choc with brandy at one of the small cafes near the Gondola station then walked back as the hotel's downhill from the slopes.

We had a brilliant time, as did just about everyone we spoke to. This year we're going to Pamps instead on Jan 27th, staying at the infamous Hotel Pamporovo! Invitation to everyone there to meet for a bender 1 night!
