Boro - 2nd Time Around!

Hi All,
A little help needed if possible please.
Short history lesson first though to give you the background info. I took a group of complete novices ( myself included) to Boro last year at the end of Feb and although the snow coverage was poor it was enough for ourselves to learn how to kit-up, snow plough and get the general basics. I have to say skiing aside we had a great time in Boro but with eight 40 year old lads aloud out to play for a few day's it's hard not to!

However, we are coming back this year a little better prepped and with our partners and although I am already starting to get a tad nervous about low snowfall and the Masala run not being open I am also lifted by the news that the new snow cannons are doing their bit to help elsewhere. My question is ( finally) is the blue/green run of Sitnyakovo 1 and the Royal Ski Way covered by snow cannons at all, as I would really like to spend some time over there given it was completely shut last year and we didn't even realise there was another side to Boro!! I can see by the cams that Sitnyakovo is open and under cannon but I'm not sure which run it refers to as 2 & 3 are red runs and outside of our capabilities.
Any info on blue/green runs open and covered by cannons would be gratefully received so I can put every bodies mind's at ease!
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
You will enjoy the Sitnyakovo side of the mountain now that Borosport has installed snow cannons.
There are snow cannons on Sitnyakovo 3, the Sitnyakovo baby slope and on the path way from the bottom of this slope to the top of the Rila 4 man chair. From the top of this chair there is an easy way down Martinovi Baraki 1 then drop on to the pathway back to Rotata.

Hi Andrew

May be better coming from someone who has been out there but looking at the videos appearing on u tube it would appear as the following;

As you ski off the Sitnyakovo express you can ski directly down the slope which is the top section of Sitnyakovo 1 and at the bottom (next to the button lift you would turn left and follow the track to enter Martinova Baraki. Once on here you can follow this down the end and turn right and pick up the bottom section of Royal residence ski ...

Once on here you can follow this down the end and turn right and pick up the bottom section of Royal residence ski way and follow this down - I believe the majority of this is snow canons.

Alternatively from part way down the Martinova Baraki on the left (second and third turn) you have a choice of Martinova Baraki 3 and 4 to head down to Rila.

But don't just do these, take the Gondola up to the top as there are many slopes within green and blue to play on especially Markudjik 1 which is a huge area to spread out on.

When are you going out - we are heading to Borovets on the 28th so dancing like hell for snow. Cheers

re:Boro - 2nd Time Around!

Hi Guy's....Wow, what can i say but thank you both for your help! I have 17 going out on the 22nd and although i know you can't be held responsible for the weather, it sure does make you nervous when you know eye's will be on you if we are stuck in front of the Rila again!

Just as a side note, do you know if Boro Sports intend to carry on the investment plan next year by adding more cannons around the slopes?

If you look on the Borosport web site map you can expand it to show the runs with snow cannons and the extra lighting for night skiing..

We have heard that Borosport will put cannons on the Red Flag Slope, Yastrebets 1 and from the top of the gondola down Haramia to the top of the Yastrebets 4 man chair.
If they do that it will be fantastic.
Just leaves Markudjik but that seems to be more of an environmental issue as it would need a reservoir up there.
