Hi All,
Went to Boro 3 years ago and had a great time, just got back and have to following to say.
Prices, yep gone up
Pistes, crowded and slushy or icy
Pistes, lots of skiers snaking behind instructors preventing you from passing
Instructors, barging to the front of the lift queues
Prostitutes in the street handing out leaflets, one even told me to F’off as I didn’t want to go a lapdance place… this was at 10am !!!
Credit card cloned and now left with access to my cash after HSBC shut down my account… guess where it was cloned…Boro, only used it once at a cash exchange place !
Bars full of lads either fighting or stripping off and dancing round poles like chimps… Avalanche Bar, we watched the window get put through
Mafia ! (everywhere)
Buzz Bar, perhaps the rudest barwoman in the world, made me pay for drinks I did not have..
Half of the group got ill… food poisoning
Hawks outside every bar, shouting, Cheap as chips, ASDA price, even found a Gordon Ramsey trained chef…. Wonderful
As an 8 yr veteran of Boro and Bansko i've learned where to go, where to avoid, which hotel to stay at and also where to get my money changed ( Igor in the leather jacket outside the Rila 9pm gives a good rate)
Just listen to the advice given if you are considering going to Bulgaria, that way you are prepared and ready for any scams.
