Hi we're going 3rd Jan and staying at the Samokov Hotel.
Read the reviews so not expecting too much!! Not going for the skiing though as we're on a tight budget, but just to throw snow balls at each other as it's the wife's 50th . A couple of questions though for those who've been before, can you buy a single trip pass up the Mountain on the lifts once your there? and if so how much? as it would seem a shame not to go up whilst we're there and if you wanted to walk down how long would it ...
Hi we're going 3rd Jan and staying at the Samokov Hotel.
Read the reviews so not expecting too much!! Not going for the skiing though as we're on a tight budget, but just to throw snow balls at each other as it's the wife's 50th . A couple of questions though for those who've been before, can you buy a single trip pass up the Mountain on the lifts once your there? and if so how much? as it would seem a shame not to go up whilst we're there and if you wanted to walk down how long would it take? secondly is there facilities for ski doo safaris or sleigh rides locally and if so how much roughly do they cost. I've heard of White Magic and 100 lev per person for a skidoo safari, this seems a lot are there more competitive operations out there and finally what would you say was the best "trip" to take. Thanks hope you all have a good trip too
thats a lot of post there Sam, and you really dont know what to expect when you get to Borovets. All i would say is go with an open mind and you should have a fine old time. Most people go back year after year and iam hoping to return for my 50th 2010 now i do feel old
When i was there last season. there was 2 places that did Skidoos but i cant remember the prices. It was not cheap though.
I loved the Skidoos. Its definately worth it if you have never done it before
Half day lift passes where 27.5 Levs and Day passes where 50 levs last season . I expect it to be about the same this season.
sam. get your bloody ski's on, you can practically ski from your front door in the village - you will love it.
you could have gone to the lake district for a walk!!!!!!
Munster, I agree. Such a shame to go all that way and not ski. Go on guys don't be shy you'll love it. You may also want to try bum boarding outside the Rila under floodlights in the evening - great fun.
Thanks all, will look into the bum boarding that sounds fun and not too expensive, as for the lake district might have a little difficulty having a snow ball fight there but seriously would love to try skiing ....perhaps I'll sell a kidney
Went to Borovets in feb this year , first time skiing at age of 43, there was a guy in the next group at 70 --first timer, do not miss out.
I regret not doing it sooner.
Out there with my lad on saturday 26th to give him the chance (age 12) , yes we are laso on tight budget.
Push the boat out and go for it.
Fab
Do it man, wait until January and you will be able to buy a whole body for €10, blimey you'd probably get a house and a car with it the way the £ is going
