If they were able to make snow above freezing 0 degrees then im sure they would, as they would have invented something truly remarkable. snow cannons working at plus 5 just sounds barking to me, when my local snozone is kept at -5 at all times so their cannons can work. i always thought the freezing point of water was below 0 degrees, but hey its been a few years scince i was at school maybe its all changed.

SP. first week in Feb again. 5 weeks today. Fourth year on the bounce. Last year utterly amazing. Year before not so good. First year was bob on. Ski'd every year though. Although only now tackling reds and the odd black. Let it snow let it snow let it snow.

Obviously freezing point is below zero lol, but I'd have just thought that in modern society we could make a machine become below freezing inside, to make it. A bit like your washing machine operates at room temperature but then can wash clothes at up to 100 degrees IYSWIM
I hope you are right Paul G. I also don't mean to sound as if I am whining.I am just frantically worrying, thinking about my poor kids' faces if we get there and they can't ski. We save all year for this and we cannot ...

Dont worry there will always be at least 3 good runs for them to ski, what date do you go out on? Its irrelevant what temperature it is inside the snow cannon, the important part is what happens to it once it has left the machine
if it only remains as snow for a few minutes after being made by the machine(Due to above 0 temperatures) it would be pointless hence they need it to be cold enough outside to give it a chance to last

Skater girl. Please... Don't panic. Whilst only had three years in Boro and therefore a relative 'virgin'... I've ski'd every year. Even when conditions were really bad. You and the kids will be fine. My son is a little superstar... 13 and does black runs with his eyes shut (little bugger!!), whilst I'm a little back from him. We've always enjoyed Boro and done every range of runs with the family. They're professionals that look after the slopes and will present them as best as the ...

Like you, we save all year. I wish I could afford snow sure resorts high in the alps or in the US or Canada. But Boro will be just fine. You'll see!!!

Dont panic skatergirl, you and your kids will be fine, its still early in the season with a good coverage for this time of year. 2012 was a very good year, 2011 was a very bad year for snow but we still managed to board and ski every day and had a fantastic time. just keep dancing and it'll come.Paul.

SKATERGIRL, I know how your feeling, and what will be will be and there isn't anything we can do BUT I've been to Boro 15 times in the last 8 years and have ALWAYS skied , so try to stop worrying and look forward instead,happy hols, Rigsre: Boro Sat 29th Dwc
Thanks folks, we go out next weekend. I am lying in bed at night worrying about it! Feel a bit better now most of you seem certain that some runs will be open.
I have had my holiday company saying that "Alternative activities will be arranged should there be no snow," which is making me nervous!!!And then reading the reports a few days ago about the snow melting has unnerved me. It does say it is minus 3 on the Borosport website today so hopefully the cannons will be going today and tonight ...
