I am due out to Boro on Saturday and obviously the snow reports arent pretty reading (thanks kaz great job btw)
THe only ray of sunshine i can see at the moment is that it looks like its gonna be cold next week. With that in mind i was hoping somebody could tell me what runs are covered by snow cannons and also how long it takes for them to get enough snow on a run to make it safe for boarding (or skiing if thats your thing)!!
The snow cannons are really designed to maintain the slope when they need topping up during a snow drought. I expect they will be able to get enough on some slopes in order to be able to ski/board, but imagine it would take a couple of days. There is however snow forecast for next week so hopefully the slopes may recover, a depth of 20-30 cm would probably be needed on some slopes but maybee less on beginer areas, it depends what the ground is like underneath, grass doesnt need much snow ...
