I take you are going to have leasons, if so go to bansko think you would get more out of it, also is your not bothered about night life crystal have some really good deals end of jan begining of feb Katrino hotel very good hotel but about 15 mins away but if happy with a meal in and a drink in hotel bar would be good, ski bus runs every 10 to 15 mins in morning and at night, otherwise perun is a good hotel but didnt see any good deals
Took my two boy's to Borovets last Xmas and they loved it, first time skiing. Going back in Feb next year but the week before half term and saved £1000, £1780 for 4 inc full ski packs and half board
Have been to all three big resorts with the family,
Pamporova,
Fors, Great for beginners, sunny, friendly.
Against, Have to get bus to slopes, pestered by bell boys, not enough variety for better skiers.
Bansko,
Fors, Greater variety of slopes, Hotel facilities great, lots going on on the slopes.
Against, Gondola a nightmare at half term, no snow around hotel when we went, food/drink places on slopes busy and comparatively expensive.
Borovets,
Fors, Hotels at foot of slopes, great ...

Borovets,
Fors, Hotels at foot of slopes, great for popping back to hotel, slopes varied unless your a black runner, great atmosphere.
Against, Most hotels dated, gondola to top slopes shut a lot due to wind.
For us Borovets wins everytime (although I have a soft spot for Pamporova, but family disagree.
