Boro/Pamp/Chep .......

re:Boro/Pamp/Chep .......

Thanks SWS (Pippa?) for clearing that up.

Yes if it comes off a day or two at Chep would be on the cards, I've read somewhere the off-trail is better?

Any other comments on the off-trail in the areas in general? Either it's a well kept secret, or it's not a common deal?

Cheers, LJ

re:Boro/Pamp/Chep .......

I love Pamps - but with your budget, I imagine you are only looking at 2 or 3 days, in which case the 4 hour transit each way would be a deciding factor for me. Transit to UK airport, 2 hours at the airport, 3 hours flight and then 4 hours transit X 2 = 20 hours + in total travel.

re:Boro/Pamp/Chep .......

Thanks for the travel advice, but it's no what I'm looking for ...... nevertheless out of interest I've just priced a deal for two, leaving on 21st Jan (hardly last minute), at 330 gbp, 7 days, flights/tfrs/accom/carriage/pass.

So anyone with real world experience of Pamps/Chep off-trail riding please chime in.

Cheers, LJ

[Bansko in comparison is coming out about the same cost]

re:Boro/Pamp/Chep .......

I'm not entirely sure what is open at Chep currently - My understanding is that it is just the main red and that the other runs are not open (political reasons). The off piste is purely dependant on snow conditions and there is not a huge amount at either resort but there is some, if the snow is good. I can certainly put you in touch with locals who might be able to help you.

Thanks, coming out on the 28th, so we'll see. Will pick this thread up again when return and maybe fill in some gaps, conditions permitting.

Any further news on this situation? With all the recent snow can't see any reason why not, logistically .....

re:Boro/Pamp/Chep .......

yes, with the recent snow fall it appears that all is open at Chepelare. Great reports coming back from there.

Yes ....... in some ways this is also a bit of a recce, might even be out again a bit later season with a mate, depending on terrain and conditions.

Funnily enough, was just watching a vid of you (I think, PW?) on the 'tube, at Chep, maybe with a young guy on a board (your boy?).

Looks deserted too, my kinda place ......
