Borovets - 1st Timer

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I are going on our first real winter holiday this year and decided to book Borovets flying out on the 27th Dec for a week staying at the Hotel Victoria. My girlfriend is an experience skier and this will really be my 2nd time! We have decided to both try snowboarding! Couple of questions if someone could please answer.

1)We have hired equipment from Hotel Rila and I was just wondering if you need to hand it all back at the end of each day? Is there a facility whereby you can store your gear to save you having to go back every morning to get fitted?

2)Are there restaurants / bars high up/or midway on the slopes or is everything down the bottom?

Would also like to thank Kas&Bobby whose posts have helped ease our snow fears Smile Fingers crossed we will be fine for the 27th.

No you don't have to hand it all back in but then you will have to keep it in your room. Not a big deal so don't worry, although I am not entirely sure where Hotel Victoria is.

Yes there bars etc. up the top of the Gondala and at the top of the yatrebets express and close to the bottom of the Meikojic's. If you look on other threads you will see that Kas&Bobby have a part share in one bar at the top of the gondola this season Booze

Not sure what the weathers like in Boro today ...

Not sure what the weathers like in Boro today but its been snowing heavily down here in Sofia so already its a better start then last season.

Enjoy your stay I am sure you will have a cracking time. Cheers Party

re: Borovets - 1st Timer

hotel Victoria, if im correct, is situated about ten minutes walk outside Borovets- in a pine forrest. A 14 bedroomed ausrian styled small hotel, that has some good write ups on various sites.
You may wish to leave your ski gear at the Rila depot unless your going night skiing someevenings.
Wont be expensive getting a cab or horse & Cart back and forward though if you decide to take gear back with you.
Have a great time, im sure you will! Very Happy

re: Borovets - 1st Timer

Hi Keggy- im sure someone will be along soon who can tell you about arrangements in Pamps- usually you can use your ski equipment whenever you wish during the course of your holiday, providing you store it yourself though.
Have a good holiday-im sure you will! Very Happy

re: Borovets - 1st Timer

Keggy - your skis will be numbered and that number will correspond with a storage space number in the Malina ski depot. Each day when you've fininshed skiing you simply return them to your storage space and pick them up again the next day.
