Borovets - Help !!

Coming to Bulgaria for first time in January. Can't wait ! We are hiring the car in Sofia and driving down. Will be staying at Golf Club Ibar
Few questions though ...
a) have never driven in these conditions before, so will we need snow chains ?
b) we will need to hire equipment (skis, boots, poles) and arrange lessons .... where can we do this ?
c) can we leave our equipment somewhere in Borovets as we won't have ski racks on the car.
Any help greatly appreciated.

So first snow chains, just for bad wheater, be more afraid about the road from Sofia to Borovez, was made new at least for the mariage of the daughter from Simeon of Saxon Coburg, so may be 7 to 8 years ago, but not in good conditions. Hope you rent a SUV or something like this.
You can book equipment and lessons and these here on these side, even ski gadrobe.
Leave nothing worthy on or in your car.

Hello Brendan,

I read you stay in Golf Club Ibar, not in Borovez. So it is much easier for you to drive another route, not crossing Borovez.
Better and I think faster is that you take the A1 in direction Plovdiv, then leave them to the town of Kostenez and from there following the 82 may be 5 km and you will be in the resort. Even in Kostenez are some bigger supermarkets, so you can buy all you need there.
