Just returned with family from Borovets. Great first time experience. We stayed at the Iglika Palace (opposite the Rila) excellent small friendly hotel. Hello!
Just returned with family from Borovets. Great first time experience. We stayed at the Iglika Palace (opposite the Rila) excellent small friendly hotel. Don't expect The Ritz - but good value, clean accomodation. Standard rooms are well equiped and surprisingly warm! Food much better than we were led to believe - spoilt for choice - don't be put off by the look of it - just go for it - there's plenty of it and it's mostly delicious. If you don't like just grab another plate and try again! One tip - remember to take a pair of flip-flops if you want to use the pool - the 'wellness center' staff get upset if you don't have them and they cost 10 lev to buy. Skiing good for beginners - fantastic ski school (Boro Sport) our instructor (Peter) was a darling and really looked after us. We stayed together to learn as a family - but you can get split up if you are at different levels. Make sure everyone especially kids have 20 lev with them as you ski from 10am - 4pm and go to lunch as a group - so no chance to meet up unless pre-arranged. Airport - customs check at Plovdiv very slow - basic facilities. Resort brilliant - oldy worldy and positively charming
Hiya!
Going to the Iglika Palace on Saturday! Is there a kettle in the room?? Any ideas on spa prices?? Is it warm in the rooms?? Do you need to take your own towels for the pool??
If you could let me know anything about this hotel it'd be great!!
Hi Debby - no kettle in the room. We didn't use the spa - friend who used the Alpine for massage paid 24 lev. The rooms are very warm - we packed loads of thermal clothes - you only need t-shirts in the rooms - some days we had to open a window to get some fresh air in. Drank loads of mineral water from the 'minibar' fridge in the room to re-hydrate. The Rila provided towels for swimming - no idea if Iglika do. Have a fabulous time!
