There is a gruop of about ten of us looking to book a snowboarding holiday in Jan 2005. Can anyone recommend an easy and CHEAP way of booking?
A few of us have been before and we have always booked with a tour operator (crystal) but is there anyway of booking direct with a hotel and getting a flight seperate?
Just heard read on the Bulgarian Tourist Information site, that proposals are afoot to severely reistrict snowboarding (probably limiting it to one slope) bad news or what!!
We booked direct last year and flew on the daily BA flight to Sofia.
We did book directly with the Hotel Alpin but it would actually have been cheaper to book through BulgariaSki, they will also arrange the transfer for you as will the hotels. The main issue to consider is if you wish to use ski/snowboard school as this is considerably cheaper through tour operators. Savings can be washed away if you don't get ski passes etc before you travel. This site will arrange all this if you ...

Have a search around and either phone or e-mail B/ski and see what you can arrange and then compare prices. It can take a bit of time but the savings may be very worthwhile for a group of 10!!

This is bad news. If they just limit to one slope, I certaintly will not go back ever again. They should not do this, they should have more ski patrol staff to look for skiers and boarders who are out of control and then take action against those.
Have you got a link for the site where you read ...

Surely the best way to improve conditions and pistes at Borovetz is to ban ski schools from the slopes. The instructors do not care where they take them and the skiers never look up the slope before they set off snaking accross the whole slope.
Skiers beware...snowboarding is taking over. Skiers will be in the minority in a couple of years.....and ve shall rule ze vorld....HA HA HA!!!!
