Well back at home now after a what can only be disrcibed as an indifferent week Question Stayed in the hotel Ela! Food ok at best, clean and tidy although the water packed up of the 4th floor on new years eve which was pants and the hotel staff were at best "useless" when we complained Mad The resort in general was pretty good and did not find anyone trying to short change us in the bars and restaurants. Now the skiing.....or lack of it, only 4 runs open at the start which rapidly reduced to 2 as the yestrabets was shut more than it was open. The conditions on the nursery slope were a joke due the the lack of snow and the amount of people on it and caused us to not bother in the end as you either slipped of the sheet ice or got pole axed by an out of control begginer who strayed into your groups 6ft sqaure section! and no I am not exaggerating! The final straw was when those cowboys called borosports cleared the slope at 15.30 to run a piste bully on it so it looked tidy for the new arrivals...joke! Did they do they upmost to get the runs open? No! the only thing they done was shovel ice and a little bit of snow on the drag lift to ensure they could say "the piste is open....you can ski so give us your money". Now I know you cant order the weather but you can predict it far out enough (24-36 hrs) that you dont sell lift passes, hire boots and skies. Even our rep couldnt look us in the eye when our friends asked what the out look was! A real shame that due to weather conditions they felt the need to fleece every penny out of you as the resort does have alot of nice runs and seems pretty well layed out. My advice to anyone thinking of going there is leave it as late as possible to book and pre book the lessons and ski hire as if you book it out there and the snow does not arrive you WILL get fleeced big time.

Really sorry you didn't have a good time and that the reps etc weren't honest with you... unfortunately the best snow is coming later and later every year, i hope your experience hasn't put you off going back to BG, perhaps end Jan/early Feb. I can't speak for Boro but Bansko and Pamps are great, although again I wouldn't book for start of the season.

Hey Allan,

Checked out the webcams? The runs are in a much better condition now!
