Anyone heading out from bristol on the 28th Jan? we're a group of 4 heading to borovets for the first time, all the reviews for boro look good so far. Staying at Edelweiss. What's it like?
Also, is the main gondola working? I've read in other reviews on other websites that the gondola gets shut down at the slightest hint if wind - is this true?
Looking forward to getting out there!!!!
It's true that the gondola does get shut at the top if the wind is strong, but is open to the middle station most the time, so depending on your level you may still get up there.
Don't worry though, there are two other 4 man chair lifts that go to a different mountain and these are nearly always open, and the runs from there are great, mostly a mixture of blues and reds, with one green that runs all the way down. There is also another chair ...

There is also another chair lift outside town, about 10lev in a taxi (£4) but this will only take you to red runs - test your skill!!!
Haven't stayed at Edelweiss, but have stayed in a few different hotels out there, and tried out a cople more.
You're going to have loads of fun! We're going out from Gatwick on 4 Feb - we've only just got back on 4th Jan but i still can't wait!!!
Hi yes we stayed there last year. Its ok better than I expected really. The rooms are small and basic but clean, you have to keep your eye on heating in rooms because it can go cold because the hotel have them on timers, we complained and we got a electric radiator brought to our room that we could leave on all the time so that was good. The food is repetative but edible lots of vegetables and chicken. It is a fair walk to lifts, but there are taxis and horse drawn carriages outside the ...

The food is repetative but edible lots of vegetables and chicken. It is a fair walk to lifts, but there are taxis and horse drawn carriages outside the hotel to take you there every morning and they are cheap, it would take you a good half hour to walk to lifts especially if your carrying all your clobber!!!! Theres a bar down stairs that ok, its got a sky tv, its a sit and chat bar though that do fab cocktails. Overall its a budget hotel and its fine after all your going there for the sking not the hotel, so dont worry just go and enjoy!!!
