Hi All
Group of us are coming to Borovets end of Jan. We did Bansko and enjoyed it a few years ago and we were after another cheap ski holiday so decided to give Borovets a go. Can only find really old info on Borovets mainly people complaining about people trying to get them to drink in their bars and strip joints and not feeling safe walking in the dark! Is Borovets similar to Bansko as we never experienced anything like this in Bansko!
Any info on good ski hire, bars and restaurants ...

Hi Elizabeth, I have been to borovets many times and although there are a couple of dodgy strip bars I think ( not really ever noticed them ) there are loads of great bars and restaurants all within walking distance of each other... I've never felt unsafe walking home at night and have had a few late ones... If the snow conditions are good then you will have a great time. I've only been to Bansko once and wouldn't go back because of the morning queues for the gondola.. There are queues in ...

There can be quite a few people trying to get you into their bars for dinner, I just smile and keep walking. I wouldn't say it makes me feel unsafe. Titanic is a lovely little bar at the bottom of the slope to the left as you come out of the Rila.re:Borovets 28th January
