Bulgaria Ski discussion board

To be really honest, if you are an experienced skier then you wil be pretty bored by day two. We came back on the 26th and there wern't much snow left then. Yes there has been a little snow but I wouldn't have thought it would do much to refresh the pistes as the tempreatures are high now, up as much as 15 or 16 celcius. You may find some snow at the top of the mountain but you wont be able to ski back to resort, those runs were pretty bare two weeks ago. But there again going skiing in bulgaria in April you can't expect much more really. Did you research the snow fall for previous years in April at Borovets? Most ski tour operators seasons finished on the 26th March for Borovets.

We came back on the saturday & yes there were quite a lot of bald spots!! but skiing was fine, quite a bit of snow fell thurs night & most of friday & was plenty up on the gondola bit of a trek but worth it. Temp was nowhere near 15 degrees was 0 most days & -2 outside rila where web cam is, much colder up on the gondola!!!! you wont see any one on the slopes on the web cam at 18.00 because thats the nursery slope & button lifts close at 16.20. Night skiing usually starts from 17.00 although it was closed a couple of the nights we were there not sure why. Heard a rumour that skiing season will last to the end of april in borovets as had such a lot of snow this year, so fingers crossed for you
