Borovets Conditions - 7th March

Finally recovering after the 2nd invasion - just!!

In terms of the ski runs, today all Marky runs are closed due to high winds, which means the Mussala pathway is also closed. Yastrebets is still skiing well and the Black 'bowl' on the Rila side is very good due to all the work that was done on it in the summer.

The bottom is a bit icy and patchy but hopefully the snow will come as forecast....

Kas

re: Borovets Conditions - 7th March

Thanks Kas. Excuse my ignorance but where is the black bowl in terms of the piste map?

re: Borovets Conditions - 7th March

Hi Rich

The bowl is the furthest black to the left on the piste map - Cherveno Zname. Its a Steepish but very wide black running down to the 4 man chair - Sitnyakovo Express

Pretty much dead centre of the slope is the bowl a 50 - 60m channel running down the slope - really good to transition through.

Cheers Danny

skied Borovets today and can confirm that the far right black on the Rila side is indeed skiing well. Sitniyakovo2 is also excellent fun. lots of snow and big moguls. it is marked as closed but i have no idea why as it probably has more snow on it than any other run in the resort. Sitnaykovo3 also marked as closed was open all day and skiing ok except for a few patches at the top. the snow was a bit more slushy today which makes for hard going for intermediates/advanced but usually the ...
