Hi Guys,

No change from yesterday, although the gondola is shut today - it was only open for walkers yesterday though.

The only real difference is that Borosport are running free shuttle buses from the Gondola to the Yatrebets express so that people can use the Ystrebets slopes - it is normally about 10lev with a taxi.

Yastrebets slopes are still iin excellent condition as are the Rila slopes - this is simply down to the snow cannons / artificial snow.

I have seen on weather reports that is is much 'warmer' here, but it was -1 about 30mins ago (at the resort level).

Unfortunately the markudjik slopes and all other slopes without cannons are totally unskiable.

Thanks for the update. Forgive my lack of knowledge of the ski area, by Rila Slopes do you mean the whole left area (if you are looking at a map of the slopes.) ? Are they all open?

Also by Yastrebets do you mean the whole lower right area of the slope maps? Or is it just certain runs in that area?

Again apologies for my horrendous explanation! Ive never been so am not sure of the exact snow cannon locations

Hopefully both those areas will continue to be covered by the snow cannons, temps this week dont look too good tho, fingers crossed!

What a fab attitude to have! We may be sat in a bar with you...!! The resort is so quiet - it's like a ghost-town so we're bound to find you!

Ross - The Rila slopes that are open are just those covered with snow cannons so:

The three nursery slopes on the Rila side - Rila, Iglika & Rotata. Also, the blue and the red on the Rila side are open - Martinovi 1 & 2.

On the Yastrebets side - Popangelov and Yastrebets 3 are open - basically at the top of Yastrebets 4 man chair you go left (Popangelov) and then that splits further down to inlcude Yastrebets 3 - they are both open and end up the 4 man chair. Yastrebets 1 is on the right as you come off of the 4 man chair (looking down the slope) but that is shut.

if you have a look at the piste map that should sort of make sense!!

I suppose we are really fortunate that we will be back out in February. We know the conditions aren't great but it was the same last year and we managed to ski every day. We are no experts so will enjoy building confidence on the Yastrebets, just hope the temps stay low enough for the cannons to keep working and if we're really lucky we'll get to do the Mussala pathway on our 2nd week out (n if we don't i might have to try to persuade him to do the last week of march as everyone says the conditions are good and the runs are quiet).

Keep up the good work and we'll buy you and Bobby a drink in a couple of weeks time
